Hungarian Society for Medical Physics
The predecessor of the Hungarian Society for Medical Physics was established in 1974 as the Medical Physics Section of the Hungarian Biophysical Society (MBFT). In the same year, the section applied for membership in the International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP), the worldwide organisation of medical physicists. In 1982, it also joined the European Federation of Organisations for Medical Physics (EFOMP), which had been founded in 1980. In 1995, the section became the Hungarian Society for Medical Physics (MOFT), and in 2008 its members decided to establish the independent Hungarian Society for Medical Physics.
