Description of Foundation and Bridging Courses
Foundation Knowledge
The Basics of Medical Physics bridging (prerequisite) course was established to provide students from diverse academic backgrounds with the opportunity to acquire the competencies required for the Medical Physics programme that they may not yet possess.
Required Knowledge Areas
Multivariable Calculus
Mathematical foundations and their applications in medical physics.
Probability Theory
Statistical models, uncertainty analysis, and data analysis.
Measurement Data Analysis
Processing of measurement results and error analysis.
Programming
Fundamental algorithms and computer-based data processing.
Nuclear Physics
Radioactivity, radioactive decay processes, and fundamental nuclear physics.
Nuclear Measurement Techniques
Radiation detection and the operation of measurement systems.
Completion of the Requirement Course
Completion of the required subjects is certified by the course coordinator by entering the signature for the Basics of Medical Physics requirement course.
Subjects completed additionally may be recognized as elective credits.
In the case of previously completed courses, at least 70% overlap in course content with the corresponding component of the Basics of Medical Physics is required for acceptance.
